Some agencies around the world may advance models with a small allowance
and living expenses and sometimes provide housing. But be aware that sometimes
some of them mark up their expenses above the actual costs...don't stand
for it. Find out the actual cost of your living quarters and if the price
is too high, complain to your agency.
2. Request
a copy of your account expenses and earnings every month. Do not wait until
the last minute when you are ready to return home when there may be no
time to ask questions or wait for appropriate answers.
3. Many
agencies will advance the air fare to their models (round-trip tickets)
and will deduct this from your earnings.
4. Most
agencies properly deduct foreign income taxes, social security, and health
taxes. Always ask for an explanation of these deductions.
5. If you
decide to change, leave, quit, or are discharged from an agency for any
reason, or should you decide to return home for any reason, some agencies
may attempt to recover their expenses by billing you. |
