| An agency contract is an agreement
between a model/actor and an agency which is usually exclusive. The model/actor
agrees to work and accepts bookings exclusively through the agency, and
the agency agrees to locate bookings for the model/actor and for this service
will receive a commission of 15 to 20 percent from the model/actor and
a like amount from the client.
The contract is usually for a one-year period and
is usually terminable by either party or both. The contracts usually have
a set of rules or guidelines which set forth the agency's expectations,
policies and specific procedures. If you sign an exclusive contract and
you accept a booking from another agent or on your own, the agency can
and will terminate you.
Don't forget, your reputation and career are on
the line and in this small world, everybody knows everybody else in this
business! |
