We have an opening available for a motion graphics designer with strong compositing skills to collaborate on eye-exploding mograph and visual effects for broadcast and web.

CANDIDATES WILL:

· Participate in creative concept generation 

· Work well with others, showing open-mindedness in accepting and applying critique
 

REQUIREMENTS:

· Compositing or VFX experience (roto, tracking, etc) 

· Strong conceptual and storytelling ability 

· Understanding of timing and spatial flow 

· Mastery of Adobe After Effects, Photoshop, and Illustrator 

· Experience with 3D modeling/animation workflow
 

Film or episodic experience is a plus.

SCAD Savannah seeks candidates for a full-time faculty position in the School of Film, Digital Media and Performing Arts teaching game development. Qualified candidates should have the terminal degree or its equivalent in game development or a related field. A strong portfolio that reflects a high degree of knowledge in game programming and/or game art and design is required. Candidates should have a minimum of three years experience in the game industry and should be able to teach courses in game design, game art and content creation, game programming, as well the overall game development process. These include production of 2D/3D game art assets, game design theory, environment and level design, game scripting, basic game systems programming, and game prototyping. Candidates should be familiar with the historical evolution of games. Ideal candidates should be familiar with developing games on 2-3 platforms, including consoles, PC, mobile and social networking games. Candidates should be familiar with the game development life cycle and methodologies such as agile development. Familiarity with game prototyping tools, game engines and the ability to write scripts within these engines is desirable. Experience with C++, C#, and ActionScript is preferred. The Pipeline Tools TD works closely with artists and technical directors to research, design, and develop in-house tools to solve production issues and make productions more efficient. As an architect of the CG production pipeline, the tools developer must create tools that not only solve current production challenges, but that also benefit the studio as a whole. The successful candidate has the ability to identify deficiencies in the technical process and to proactively recommend solutions. The pipeline tools developer must work well in a team-oriented production environment, where daily proactive problem solving and technical innovation are expected.

• Responsible for the research, design, development, and deployment of proprietary scripts, plugins, and applications for the production pipeline.

• Conducts ongoing research in emerging industry technologies and development techniques, and determines practical applications for these advancements in order to improve production.

• Develops and executes test plans for tools, and performs regular evaluation of tool performance within the production pipeline.

• Studies patterns and trends, identifies common technical problems in a production, and recommends/implements new processes or workflows to address those problems.

• Works directly with artists and technical directors to define scope, requirements, schedule, and deployment strategy for each tool.

• Provides training and ongoing support for tools released into production.

• Collaborates with other technical directors and tools developers, attends regular production technology team meetings and serves an active role in the direction of the pipeline.

Education and Experience Requirements

• Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Film, Animation, or equivalent experience.
• 2+ years production experience.
• Working knowledge of Unix, Windows, and OSX platforms
• Experience with both procedural and object-oriented programming languages, shader/plugin writing as well as shell/Perl/Python scripting.
