The position is part of the

and projection systems, Digital playback solutions, Editorial non-linear

expertise and direction for Audio Visual and Media data transfer.

Analyst/Archive Administrator for an immediate project in our Glendale,

The Production Analyst/Archive
Administrator will be responsible for the analysis of over 18TB of production
data from a CG feature film as well as the creation of tools and processes
for data archiving.
An ideal candidate for this
project may have experience as a Technical Director with scripting abilities,
a programmer with CG production experience or a Systems Administrator with
maya and scripting experience.
This position is anticipated
to be up to a 6 month project with the strong possibility of additional
projects upon completion.
Responsibilities:
• Obtain a good understand
of data structures across all CG departments and create disk usage reports
by file type and department
• Create archiving procedure
for CG production data
• Help determine and create
necessary toolset to archive production data, including scripts to move
and manipulate files
• Determine what data does
not live with shots or assets (such as Anim libraries, Light kits, EFX
Engines, etc.)
• Resolve data path differences
between multiple studios
• Create test render procedure
as final data check
• Create a plan with steps,
milestones, and deadlines for archiving two feature length 3D films
Additional tasks may include:
• Create a high level check
to determine if all sequences, shots, and assets have been received by
subcontractor(s)
• Create a system for checking
that the latest version of all shots and assets have been received by subcontractor(s)
• Create a Maya file compare/parser
to ensure that all source images are present for each shot
• Create a RIB file to Maya
compare tool to identify any modifications to the RIB files, and help determine
whether or not RIB files should be retained
• Catalog data and determine
process for restoring data
Qualifications:

plan to integrate new functionality and accommodate new technical requirements.
Implement plan making intelligent use of existing code and test solution.
Help to create a methodology that will allow ongoing support and development
of the new application.

infrastructure and production processes
- Extract existing code into
reusable libraries
