Are you looking to get your foot in the door with an awesome game studio? Do you have experience writing scripts?

Filter’s looking for a Script Writer to work on a fun and outgoing game development team on the Eastside! This is a 1 year, contract opportunity where you’ll be part of creating dialogue/scripts for an exciting game title. If you are an experienced game writer with a passion for collaboration and a burning desire to make a meaningful impact on some amazing games, this may be the job for you.

WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING

• Working with narrative design lead to build and refine voiceover scripts
• Write V/O scripts per spec, incorporate feedback, provide script supervision and occasional voice direction for live VO recording sessions
• Write and revise game dialogue, working closely with lead writer, editor, producers, and game design team to ensure that all gameplay requirements are met
• Integrate comments from other writers, editors, designers, and development team members into various revision drafts of material, working collaboratively as a member of a team
• Edit dialogue for other shared writers as needed
• Draft additional dialogue for multiple projects as needed

SKILLS YOU’LL NEED

• Silky smooth people/diplomatic skills, highly collaborative, proven ability to work successfully in high-pressure situations with tight deadlines
• No prima donnas or big egos! Diplomacy and a passion for collaboration are essential for this role
• Superior writing ability including dialogue, major story beats, cinematics, and in-game text
• High level of flexibility with regard to change in direction or rewrites.
• Understand techniques to elicit player emotion
• Strong research skills and a relentless attention to detail 
• Excellent knowledge of writing tools and script formatting 
• Experience directing voice actors and rewriting lines on the fly a plus
• Must be able to work ON-SITE to ensure availability for team collaboration and quick changes in direction
• A B.A. degree in English, Communications or a closely related field is preferred
• Experience shipping at least two game titles is preferred
• At least two relevant writing samples requested

Abbot Management seeks a Script Reading Intern to read screenplays and write coverage.

As a script reader, you will help us evaluate new writer submissions. Our readers are asked to cover a minimum of two screenplays per week, and are required to edit their coverage according to feedback provided. If two readers cover the same script, they must discuss their differences in opinion. Readers also communicate with writers, answering their questions and acknowledging their thanks or complaints.

At the end of our program, our readers can export all of their coverage into one properly formatted pdf for use as a writing sample. Our Internship is good for someone looking to study screenwriting conventions and the coverage process. While Academic Credit can be provided, this it is unpaid work from home internship.
